Elzbieta Woitas est née et a grandi
dans l'ancienne ville hanséatique de Dantzig (Gdansk) puis
à Cracovie.
Depuis 1982 elle vit et travaille principalement en Allemagne, dans
les villes de Bonn, de Cologne et aujourd'hui à Düsseldorf.
Formation
1970 -1976 études classique de peinture, sculpture et architecture
intérieure à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts à
Cracovie auprès des professeurs Zabkowski, Marek et Budzillo.
Elle termine ses études avec le Magister Artium.
Séjours à l'étranger et voyages d'études
Un séjour à New York a permis un contact intensif avec
l'avant-garde américaine ce qui a marqué un certain
temps sa création artistique.
Appelée au Gregoriana à Rome grâce à une
bourse, elle y étudie l'art chrétien en 1991 et 1992.
Son intérêt pour le bouddhisme zen devient dans les années
90 le troisième élément marquant et amène
de nouvelles opportunités créatrices.
Grâce à ses multiples relations à travers le monde,
ses œuvres sont présentes dans de nombreux pays européens
ainsi qu'au Brésil, au Japon, aux Etats-Unis et à Taiwan.

Les travaux informels et expressifs d'Elzbieta Woitas reflètent
la large palette de la perception émotionnelle se situant entre
l'explosion de sentiments pleins de vie et une approche douce et prudente
du monde intérieur.
Ses moyens de composition sont la couleur qui exprime la sonorité
de ses tableaux en touchant directement l'âme du spectateur
ainsi que la ligne conductrice qui guide le regard, le structure,
l'anime et éveille l'intellect par ses expériences à
travers les formes.
Tous les tableaux de l'artiste reflètent une profession de
foi en faveur du monde en tant que création pleine de vie,
de tension, profondeur et lumière. Ils sont par moment illuminés
sous forme poétique mais représentent le plus souvent
un hymne à la vie dans toute sa grandeur.

Elzbieta Woitas spent her childhood in the
old Hanseatic city of Danzig (Gdansk) where she was born, and later
in Cracow.
Since 1982 she has been living and working mainly in Germany, in the
cities of Bonn, Cologne and at present in Düsseldorf.
Education
1970 -1976 classical studies of painting, sculpture and interior decorating
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with the professors Zabkowski,
Marek and Budzillo.
She finished her studies with a Magister Artium.
Foreign travel and study trips
Her stay in New York helped to make intensive contacts with the American
avant-garde which influenced her artistic works during a certain period.
In 1991 through 1992, she studied Christian Art at the Gregoriana
in Rome on a scholarship.
In the nineties, the artist's interest in Zen Buddhism became the
third formative element which led to new creative opportunities.
Due to numerous contacts worldwide, her works can be found in many
European countries as well as in Brazil, Japan, the United States
and Taiwan.
Public opinion regarding her abstract art
The informal and expressive works of Elzbieta Woitas reflect the large
spectrum of emotional perceptions ranging from highly turbulent outbursts
of temper to a prudent and delicate approach to the inner world.
Her composition mediums are colour, expressing the vibrancy of her
paintings and instantly touching the observer's soul, as well as the
line guiding the viewer's eye, structuring and animating it, and giving
the mind an insight to form experiences.
All of the artist's paintings convey a confession to the world as
being a creation full of life and tension, depth and light. They are
at times blissfully poetical but mostly represent effervescent hymns
to life in its full abundance.
